In my quaint little colonial home in Williamsburg, nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of life in Merchant Square, I live quite a comfortable life.  My name is Duchess.  My human’s name is Richard.  We are pals.  But when Richard announced an upcoming trip out west, my enthusiasm is understandably – short.

I am a creature of habit, content with the predictability of everyday life. The thought of leaving behind his familiar surroundings, cozy bed, and routine walks fills me with a mixture of uncertainty and reluctance. While Richard is, eagerly packing our bags and planning our itinerary, I find myself dreading this upcoming adventure.
