Can you believe he sings in the car?

I will deny that I told you this, but Richard sings in the car. And not well. On our trip from Asheville, North Carolina to Nashville Tennessee, Richard decided that we should visit the Grand Old Opry. So he thought that we should spend our six hours of driving time practicing. I have to say that I actually got into it. I have something between a howl and a wine that can stay on key. While we couldn’t get tickets to see Carrie Underwood, I did get a chance to sniff the grass of the country legends. Disappointing. It smells the same.

  1. Dear Duchess, I wish I had known about the singing I would have equipped you with a teeny doggie tape recorder. Ask Richard if he knows any rap music……it’s one of my personal faves😂we have left MInneapolis and are now in Grand Marais, MN in a charming renovated farmhouse with our two daughters and son-in-law along with their darling well trained Australian sheepdog, Joe Joe. Maybe you and Lily are distantly related to her…….very distantly. We should talk about it when we’re all home again.

  2. Duchess, if you had told me you wanted me to come rescue you in Asheville and bring you back to your routine in Williamsburg, I would have gladly done so. But, as homesick for your colonial life as you may be, I draw the line at country musicville. I have absolutely no desire to visit nor willingness to go to Nashville, so I’m afraid you will have to put up with the singing in the car as it heads yet further away from Virginia. Miss you, little girl.

  3. Richard this journey is getting better and better each day! Duchess complaining about your singing is so funny. It sounds like you are having a good time…keep them coming. Can’t wait to hear more, Carmie
