OK OK OK. So I spent the last week complaining. I did not want to leave Williamsburg. I like the smells, I like my routine, I like my friends sniffing me (and letting me sniff them) in Merchant Square, yada, yada … I even thought I was getting a reprieve when Richard ran into his Covid exposure incident. So he changed the itinerary and our first day was spent in Asheville North Carolina at the Biltmore Estate and Garden. There were 8000 acres of grass to smell, with some really old trees, and thousands of previous dogs who have visited them. I have to tell you that life can’t get much better than this.
Of course, Richard had to remind me that we’re not going to be spending the rest of the month here at the Biltmore. He still wants to go to Wyoming. Why, I have no idea. Maybe I’ll be able to bring him around.
An auspicious start! Tell Richard to drive safely.
Dear Duchess, I’m with you Babe! The Biltmore sounds great to me with or without the sniffing – actually I may prefer without the sniffing. Anyway! I love the new itinerary and together maybe you and I can convince Richard (and Steve) that driving to Wyoming is the dumbest idea ever! We will talk later!
In the meantime we’ve had precious moments with our grandson Henry graduating from HS and connection with granddaughter Ella about her grand adventure of living in Brooklyn. Tomorrow we have a pontoon adventure in am and early afternoon prior to actual graduation in the evening. Then it’s off to Lake Superior on Tuesday.
We are loving our travel but we do miss our Lily! We miss you also.
Best,
Dianna
Missing you already! There are no pups visiting me at the courts! But have fun!
Duchess, you have now been somewhere I’ve always wanted to go but, as of yet, have not. So I’m a bit envious. Not the part about smelling grass but just being at the Biltmore. I hope you are reminding Richard to take pictures (Ha! As if that would be necessary.) so I can see what you, lucky dog, got to see.
There are upsides to diverting plans. Do they still have Chiuly sculptures in the gardens. I can see why Dutchess might not want to leave.
